 Band Lalon formed in 2003, is headed up by vocalist Sumi whose unique voice along with the eclectic folk fusion style has enabled another generation to appreciate the work of Lalon Shah. Experimenting with soft and hard rock, Band Lalon has created a new sound that represents their transition to a 'utopian dream'.
Lalon Shah (c. 1774–1890), was a Bengali philosopher poet. He lived in the village of Cheurain the area known as Nadia the corresponding to the district of Khushtia in present-day Bangladesh.
