Ershad Alamgir started his training at Indian Classical at his early teens and began performing on stage at the age of 17. He is a versatile singer of Ghazal, Nazrul Geeti, Western Jazz, Rock & Pop.
Ershad Alamgir has had sporadic recordings and has been featured in many musical albums in Bangladesh including the one produced by the prolific musician, composer and one of the best guitarists in Asia Mr. Ayub Bachchu.
His own most recent project is an effort to amalgamate Eastern sounds and traditional Bangla music such as Nazrul Geeti, Tagore songs and Folk etc. with Western popular genres of music not only to fuse them but to explore the melodic interrelation, similarities in the train of thought and moods. Alongside being a singer and session musician, he is a prolific songwriter and lyricist and so far has written and composed numerous songs for different projects at home and abroad including title tracks for popular dramas and short films in Bangladesh and in the UK.
